With AREXAL® PRO-Beton you create an impregnation for vulnerable concrete surfaces that results in a very durable and scratch-resistant surface. PRO-Beton is a purely natural product based on water-soluble potassium methylsilane triolate with an organic catalyst (no chemicals or chlorides) and is supplied ready for use.
How does AREXAL® PRO-Beton work?
The agent penetrates deep into capillaries, microcracks and pores. A chemical reaction between salts and minerals creates a very hard calcium silicate hydrate. As a result, a crystalline structure is formed that prevents water from penetrating, but allows vapors to escape (diffusion). Since the protection penetrates the concrete up to 20 cm deep, it is insensitive to external influences such as abrasion and impact. As a result, PRO-Beton is also used to strengthen surfaces and bind dust during the grinding and polishing of concrete floors. In addition, one treatment increases the durability (abrasion resistance) of new concrete by more than 35 percent and strengthens older, exposed cement-based concrete, mortar and self-leveling floor screeds. The treated surface becomes slightly water-repellent (hydrophobic) with the last treatment. If the material is very damp, a pre-treatment with other products from the AREXAL® series is recommended for a deep effect.
Benefits
- odorless, environmentally friendly, open to diffusion, acid-resistant, dust-binding, UV-resistant
- Easy to work with (wet on wet)
- up to 200 mm penetration depth with at least two treatments
- longer life of the treated materials
- reduced maintenance and easier cleaning
Where can AREXAL® PRO-Beton be used?
PRO-Beton is intended for surface sealing and protective treatment of vulnerable concrete surfaces such as industrial floors and car park floors. The agent strengthens concrete surfaces and protects them from heavy wear, as well as chlorides and aggressive liquids.
- Concrete in harsh environments
- Roads, Bridges, Tunnels
- Parking spaces and garages
- Water supply and sewage systems
- Industrial and material storage floors
- Naval Environments
- Car washes and workshops
- Freezers
- Agricultural silos
- Biogas plants
- Sawmills, paper mills
- Recycling and waste facilities
- balconies, stairs
Note:
After treatment with AREXAL® PRO-Beton, the surfaces can be treated with other materials.
An application of color etc. is possible!
Processing
AREXAL® Pro-Beton is delivered ready for use and does not have to be mixed or diluted with other liquids. The container should be shaken before use. The surface to be treated must be free of dust, paint or any other coating that may affect the absorbency of the material.
Any damage or visible cracks (>1.0 mm) must be repaired prior to treatment. Protect glass, aluminum and polished or painted surfaces from etching. In the event of splashes, the affected areas must be rinsed immediately with water and, if necessary, cleaned with an alkaline solution.
The temperature during application and for the following 24 hours must be ≥ +5°C. Avoid direct sunlight during application. Use a standard low pressure spray gun or roller for easy application. Apply the agent at least twice with an interval of 5-15 minutes between each application until complete saturation of the material is achieved. Note that the spray mist expands very far when applied and can damage glass surfaces.
AREXAL® Pro-Beton can be poured onto horizontal concrete surfaces and distributed with a rubber squeegee, a brush or a rag. The formation of dry patches during treatment should be avoided. Full saturation is reached after about 20-30 minutes. Remove residue, otherwise shiny or white spots may form.
